ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to determine the difference of pregnancy exercise and massage with pregnancy exercise
and tapping to increase functional activity in pregnant women of third trimester with myogenic low back pain. This
research was an experimental design with pre and post two group design. These samples included 14 people who
were divided into two groups. Group 1 was given pregnancy exercise and massage treatment while group 2 was given
pregnancy exercise and tapping treatment. Increased functional activity was measured with the Oswestry Disability
Index (ODI) before and after treatment. Hypothesis test in each group using paired sample t-test showed p = 0,000
with a decrease in the ODI score of 8,75% for Group 1 and p = 0,003 with a decrease in the ODI score of 11,45% for
Group 2. The results showed there was a significant increase of functional activity in each group. Different test of ODI
score after treatment between Group 1 and Group 2 using Independent sample t-test was obtained p = 0,620 (p>
0,05). Based on these results, it can be concluded that there was no significant difference between pregnancy exercise
and massage with pregnancy exercise and tapping to increase functional activity in pregnant women of third trimester
with myogenic low back pain.
