EFFECTS OF WATERING ON AGRONOMICAL ATTRIBUTES OF Panicum sarmentosum Roxb. AT FOUR-WEEKS AGE OF DEFOLIATION
Abstrak
Several agronomical attributes of Panicum sarmentosum Roxb. grass as a result of watering treatments
were evaluated on a research in a glasshouse belongs to Agricultural Faculty of Tadulako University located
in Palu-Central Sulawesi. This research aimed to study plant regrowth of Panicum sarmentosum Roxb.
which was 4-weekly harvested with different watering treatments. A completely randomized design (CRD)
was used in the pot trial. The watering treatments were once daily-watering, once two-days-watering, and
once watering when the plant indicates withering. Each treatment was replicated 6 times so that there were
18 pot units. Results showed that Panicum sarmentosum Roxb. has a good productive indication as a new
species which is relatively resistance to drought so it could be used and developed on dry-land of Palu-valley.
