METODE CEPAT PENDUGAAN KANDUNGAN PROTEIN KASAR PADA RUMPUT RAJA (Pennisetum purpurhoides) MENGGUNAKAN NILAI INDEKS WARNA DAUN

Abstrak

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan data respons tanaman terhadap pemupukan nitrogen dan hubungan antara kandungan protein hijauan dengan indeks warna pada daun rumput raja (Pennisetum purpurhoides), yang akan digunakan untuk mendapatkan metode pendugaan cepat kandungan protein dilihat dari warna daunnya. SPAD cholofil meter dan bagan warna daun digunakan untuk mengetahui indeks warna daun pada tanaman uji, sedangkan untuk analisis N digunakan perangkat analisis Kjeldahl. Lima taraf pemupukan nitrogen N0 (0 kg N ha-1 sebagai kontrol), N1 (60 kg N ha-1), N2 (120 kg N ha-1), dan N3 (180 kg N ha-1) diaplikasikan pada tanah latosol yang rendah kadar N sebagai perlakuan untuk mendapatkan respons berbeda terhadap warna daun dan kandungan protein hijauan, yang disusun dalam rancangan acak lengkap dengan 5 ulangan. Parameter yang diamati adalah kandungan protein kasar, warna daun dan klorofil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifkan kandungan protein kasar, warna daun dan klorofil pada daun akibat pemberian dosis N yang berbeda. Taraf N yang diberikan berkorelasi positif (p<0.01) dengan kandungan klorofil daun , warna daun dan protein kasar hijauan.
