Analisis Samsung Dalam Mempengaruhi Opini Publik Korea Selatan Pada Kasus Hukum Lee Jae-Yong 2017-2022

Abstrak

This research aims to analyze Samsung's actions as a civil oligarchy and the reasons behind differences in South Korean public opinion during the Lee Jae Yong law violation case from 2017 to 2022. The existence of large family-owned business conglomerates or known as chaebols, which often receive special treatment from the government is nothing new. This then led society to demand chaebol reforms. However, different things happened in this case, it was found that there was a change in public opinion during the dynamics of the case. This change in public opinion cannot be separated from Samsung's big role in various aspects of South Korean life. Therefore, the researcher uses a qualitative method using the theory of civil oligarchy and public opinion in discussing the background that causes Samsung's influence, which is a civil oligarchy, in changing opinions during the case. This research then identifies the reasons that influence the change in public opinion, including their big support for the economy, cultural aspects, social contributions, political communication to media coverage that is influenced by Samsung.
