Peran Media Dalam Diplomasi Publik Korea Selatan Sebagai Upaya Penyebarluasan Soft Power Di Indonesia Tahun 2012-2022

Abstrak

This research discusses the role of the media in South Korean public diplomacy as an effort to spread soft power in Indonesia in 2012-2022. The implementation of public diplomacy by the South Korean media in Indonesia focuses on the use of one of the Korean Soft power, namely popular culture which consists of Korean drama and Korean pop. The purpose of this thesis is to be able to provide a description of the role of the South Korean media as referees in public diplomacy as an effort to spread soft power to the Indonesian people as recipients of soft power. This research will show the participation of the South Korean media in carrying out the agenda of the South Korean government in the implementation of public diplomacy in Indonesia. This research will also show various forms of public diplomacy mechanisms carried out by the South Korean media in Indonesia as an effort to spread soft power, where in its application the South Korean media uses three forms of public diplomacy namely monologue, dialogue and collaboration. This research will be studied using the concept of public diplomacy and soft power. In addition, this study used a qualitative descriptive research method using a literature study data collection technique. The results obtained from this research show various forms of public diplomacy carried out by the South Korean media as referees in an effort to spread soft power in Indonesia
