Optimalitation of Tourism Potential Through Cluster Development in Wangi-Wangi Island Wakatobi Regency
Abstrak
The tourism sector cover many related businesses, so for its development needs to pay attention with interrelationships between businesses in unity. The connection between businesses form tourism clusters can increase the competitiveness of Wangi-wangi Island, Wakatobi Regency as one of the tourist destination priority. The Wakatobi Regency Government needs to take an appropriate role related to policy formulation in order to accommodate the expectations of the community as tourism business actors. The main purpose of this study is to examine how the strategy of the Wakatobi Regency Government in developing the tourism sector on Wangi-wangi Island, Wakatobi Regency. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis used Likert scale gap analysis, SWOT, and QSPM. The results of the gap analysis show that the determinants of the condition of the related and supporting industries have the highest negative gap value. The SWOT analysis produces five alternative strategies, which are then selected using QSPM analysis, where the best strategy was that the Wakatobi Regency Government needed to conduct incentive training for business actors in accordance with tourism market demand in Wangi-wangi Island.
